Song Notes: This song was written in London, Ontario back in 1985 in a dark and gloomy cockroach filled apartment on Talbot street. Peter Forrest, teetering between boredom and unrequited stardom was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven" and he tried to compose a song to sooth his soul. That meant of course trying to make up an interesting interesting bass riff for his buddy John Cash to play. Once Pete played John Cash the finished song, Cash loved the cool bass riff right away. This song also used to have an extensive guitar solo opening that was mocked (by a London wanna-be producer) as a sickening Spanish love song. So, Pete dropped the opening and kept the song. That wanna-be producer guy hated the whole song and Pete's fascination with Spanish love type songs. Pete had also written a song called "Spanish Girl" that the band played at their first London "Call the Office" gig but it was never recorded as a band.

Unfortunately, the song "Lenore" was never properly recorded and there is only one live version in existence (see above) at the Station 10 in Montreal.

The song was also refurbished as the Transylvania Swing (from Peter Forrest's 2003 Halloween CD entitled "The Frankenstein Files").
