| Ravin' of the Week : (October 09,1999) Hello Mr. Forrest, I have been a fan of Edgar Allan Poe
all my life (64
+ years) and was pleased to read about your web home page(s) on Poe in a
Canadian newspaper yesterday (The Ottawa Citizen, ?)..
In my library I thought you might be interested to know of a fine
Japanese contemporary mystery writer who has used the name of our hero
in a Japanese pronunciation way which is quite clever. I have a book
with several of his short stories (excellent!)..
He is: EDA GAWA RAMPO
Cordially yours, Gerald Corey
Prin. Bassoon Canada's National Arts Centre Orchestra
and former solo bassoon in Baltimore Symphony where I could go weekly to
the Edgar Allan Poe room of the Public Library to immerse myself in the
memorabilia of Poe's life and death in Baltimore (still my favorite U.S.
city)..
PF replies: Gerald, I never knew ol' Edgar was so popular in Japan.
I guess EDA GAWA RAMPO is Japan's new rising "son"!!!
